2nd Grade: Easter Crafts / 2do Año: Manualidades para Pascuas

It is time to say Hello to the Easter Bunny! 

Second Graders worked with shapes, which they had to cut and glue in order to create an Easter Bunny. They brought cotton and many colors to make it even cuter!

Es momento de saludar al Conejito de Pascua.

Los alumnos de segundo año trabajaron con formas que tuvieron que recortar y pegar para armar su propio conejito. También incluyeron algodón y muchos colores en sus hermosos trabajos.

5th Grade: Welcome Back To School / 5to Año: Bienvenidos A La Escuela

In order to start the year, the students of 5th Grade decorated the classroom with signs made by themselves. In these signs students wrote some questions and classroom vocabulary that is always useful to keep in mind.

For this activity students had to work in groups and share roles so that each one could be in charge of an activity. 

"Together, everything is possible" 

Para comenzar el año, los alumnos de 5to Año decoraron el salón con algunos carteles. En ellos los chicos escribieron algunas preguntas y vocabulario de clase que siempre es útil a la hora de hablar en el salón.
Para dicha actividad los estudiantes tuvieron que trabajar en grupos y compartir roles para cada uno estar a cargo de una actividad.

Generation 2017 - Welcome back to school! / Generación 2017 - ¡Bienvenido nuevamente a la escuela!

Welcome 2017! And welcome everyone to a new year of adventures!
During this year we will be exploring and learning more about the Leader in Me program; a program in which children will work on different habits in order to become more proactive and independent by processing routines that will help them in their future. Different strategies are used in the classroom hand in hand with the 7 habits as students go step by step through the year's program and units.
We are off to a great start! 

¡Bienvenido 2017! Y bienvenidos a todos a un nuevo año de aventuras.
A lo largo del año vamos a explorar y aprender más sobre Líder en Mi; un programa en el cual los chicos trabajarán en los diferentes hábitos que éste propone los cuales ayudarán a los estudiantes a mantenerse proactivos y a ser más independientes mediante el proceso de rutinas que los guiarán hacia el futuro. Diferentes estrategias se utilizarán en la clase de la mano de los 7 hábitos mientras los alumnos van paso a paso aprendiendo los contenidos del programa anual.

2nd Grade Working With Food - 2do Año Trabajando Con Las Comidas

FOOD

The little ones got to the unit about Food and they loved it!
We worked with vocabulary in class about different types of food and food categories such as Vegetables, Fruits, Meat, Dairy Products and more. 
Then, we also worked recognizing what foods can be Healthy for us or not and students gave their opinion and shared information about their eating habits. 

Los pequeños llegaron a la unidad de la Comida y la disfrutaron mucho!
Trabajamos con vocabulario sobre diferentes tipos de comida y sus categorias como por ejemplo los Vegetales, las Frutas, Carnes, Productos Lácteos y mas. 
Luego, tambien tuvimos la oportunidad de reconocer comidas Saludables y los chicos pudieron compartir opiniones e información sobre sus hábitos alimenticios. 

2nd Grade Our Neighborhood - 2do Grado El Barrio

OUR NEIGHBORHOOD - EL BARRIO

It was a rainy afternoon so we decided to make it colorful!

We have been studying the different types of stores and shops that we can find around our house in our neighborhood. We also learned how to give directions to find what we need in a store. 

So, to conclude this unit of content, we made a puzzle where each student had to draw a different store and then we put it together creating a street full of beautiful places to visit! Team work was essential for this creative activity.

Era una tarde de lluvia y decidimos darle un poco de color!

Hemos estado estudiando los diferentes tipos de tiendas que podemos encontrar en nuestro vecindario. Tambien hemos trabajado cómo dar indicaciones dependiendo de lo que estamos necesitando y dónde encontrarlo. 

Así que pusimos manos a la obra y para concluir ésta unidad, hicimos un puzzle en el que cada alumno debía dibujar una tienda para crear una calle llena de lindos lugares para visitar. El trabajo en equipo fue esencial para ésta actividad tan creativa!

This time students were able to go to the theater to see a play! They were really excited about it.
Students were able to get familiar with the vocabulary about the story, songs and the different characters in class so that they could enjoy this experience in the best way possible!
After the play, the actors were kind enough to say hi to our children which made this fieldtrip unforgettable. Students exchanged dialogues, played some games and even got autographs. We had an amazing time :) 

Esta vez los alumnos tuvieron la oportunidad de ir al teatro y ver una obra en Inglés! Estaban muy entusiasmados al respecto. Trabajamos en clase con el vocabulario de la historia, las canciones y además los personajes para que pudieran disfrutar de ésta experiencia al máximo! 
Al finalizar la obra, los actores tuvieron el lindo gesto de saludar a nuestros chicos, lo que hizo este paseo realmente inolvidable. Los alumnos intercambiaron diálogos, jugaron juegos y hasta se llevaron autógrafos. Pasamos un rato genial :)
